It is the question we hear in nearly every consultation: should I get microblading or powder brows? Both create beautiful, low-maintenance brows — but they behave differently on different skin, and the finish is distinct.
Microblading: the feathered look
A hand tool draws crisp, hair-like strokes that mimic real brow hair. On dry to normal skin with small pores, healed strokes stay sharp for 12–18 months. It is ideal if you love a natural, “are those your real brows?” effect and wear little makeup.
Powder brows: the soft-makeup look
A machine deposits thousands of tiny pixels for a shaded, powdered finish — like brows filled with a soft pencil. Powder suits oily, sensitive and mature skin far better, lasts 18–24 months, and fades the most evenly of any technique.
Our honest rule of thumb
Dry skin and sparse tails? Strokes. Oily T-zone, large pores or previous work? Powder. Most of our clients end up with a blend: strokes at the head, shading through the tail. At your free consult we test both with makeup first, so you see the difference on your own face before deciding.
Either way, insist on mapping, colour testing and healed photos — not just fresh work. Fresh brows always photograph bold; healed brows tell the truth.
