We correct other studios’ brows every month. Most fixes were avoidable — the client simply didn’t know what to ask. These five questions reveal everything.
1. Can I see healed photos?
Fresh work always looks crisp. Ask for photos taken 6+ weeks later, in daylight, unfiltered. If a portfolio shows only day-one brows, walk away.
2. What pigments and tools do you use?
Reputable artists name their pigment lines and open single-use needles in front of you. Vague answers about “organic ink” are a red flag.
3. How do you map my shape?
Look for measuring, discussion and a drawn preview you approve — not freehanding “by eye” in two minutes. Mapping should take 20–30 minutes.
4. What happens if I don’t like them?
Good studios include a perfection visit and explain correction limits honestly. Anyone promising perfection with zero risk is selling, not consulting.
5. Are you licensed and insured?
In California, body-art practitioners register with the county and hold bloodborne-pathogen certification. Ask to see it — professionals are proud to show it.
Price matters, but brows live on your face for two years. Choose the artist whose healed work you’d wear, then book the free consult and trust your gut.
